Gina & Derrick Suarez love to bring people together. In the late 2000s the couple ran a popular gathering spot called the Paisely Violin. Part vintage space, part music venue, the Paisley helped establish a growing art scene along Grand Avenue.
As the new owners of Gino’s Pizza, they were attracted to the spot for its history in the Central Phoenix community. Knowing what the space means to the neighborhood, they kept the pizzeria and made plans to expand with more features to bring people together.
El Museo represents these personal touches for Gina and Derrick. From a classic Pac Man arcade game in the corner, comfy lounge areas, artwork and live music, the couple wants the place to be more than just a spot to get your pizza. They even have plans to add a coffee shop!
Like a museum, look for the art, music and furnishings to change every few months. But know that the pizza, community - and soon, the coffee - will always be part of the neighborhood.
